People working on Social Services are responsible for assessing the needs of their clients and creating action plans to deliver resources to them. They work under the supervision of their managers and contact each client to determine the scope of the problem. These workers provide advice and resources to help their clients to overcome several difficulties. Sometimes they need to liaise with other social service agencies in order to best serve the needs of persons. Professionals working on this field are Social Workers, Social Services Assistants, and Social Services Directors.
Social Services Workers usually perform many of the following tasks:
• Demonstrating use of equipment for tenant use.
• Monitoring meal programs.
• Accompanying clients to appointments.
• Assisting in local housing.
• Creating reports.

Education
Candidates for Social Services job placements are required to have a High School Diploma or a Bachelor´s Degree as a minimum academic requirement for these jobs. These degrees can be in different areas such as Sociology, Behavior Sciences, Counseling, Social Work, Public Health Administration, Child Development, among other related subjects. Applicants for these jobs also need to have a valid State driver´s license due to long distances between their workplace and the houses of their clients. Those who want to work as Social Services Directors are required to have an Undergraduate Degree in Social Work, a license, several years of work experience, and Postgraduate studies related to this field.
