All their exploration processes are done following a set of rules know as the scientific method in order to confirm that new discoveries are factual and not just speculation. They may specialize in different subjects, for instance, a professional who work in the microbiology field may study new types of bacteria, while scientists required to study the atmosphere may research the patterns of the wind and other phenomena.
Scientists usually perform many of the following tasks:

Candidates who want to work as Scientists are required to have at least an Associate´s or Bachelor´s Degree in a scientific subject. The Associate´s Degree in Applied Science last two years and leads to entry-level science technician jobs. Professionals having this qualification assist scientists in laboratories by collecting specimens, recording experiment results, and maintaining laboratory instruments. Those who want to make their own experiments and publish their findings are required to have a Bachelor of Science. This qualification last four years and allow professionals to work in applied research and team up with engineers to develop products such as high tech devices and pharmaceuticals. People working on this sector usually specialize in one field by having a Doctorate Degree.
