Bridgeport is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Connecticut. Located in Fairfield County, the city had an estimated population of 144,229 in 2010 census and is the core of the Greater Bridgeport area. The city is part of the New York combined statistical area and is the fifth largest city in New England.Bridgeport is also the center of the 41st largest urban area in the United States, just behind Austin, Texas (40th).
