Juvenile Probation Officers are intermediaries between the system of justice and offenders who are not yet at an age where they can be jailed. They have specific duties of supervision and help in the rehabilitation of young criminal offenders providing behavioral monitoring and counseling. These professionals help offenders to find better options in life by having meetings with them and their families. They are also required to make daily rounds to juvenile´s houses to make sure that they are in compliance with court orders.
Juvenile Probation Officers usually perform many of the following tasks:
• Taking part in regular training programs.
• Preparing documents.
• Motivating adolescents.
• Teaming up with surveillance officers to supervise young offenders.
• Designing rehabilitation plans.

These officers can also obtain a certification to have better job opportunities. This qualification is offered by the American Correctional Association.
