Hotel Management is the area responsible for renting rooms to travelers. Some professionals working on this field are Hotel Managers and they are required to meet all the needs of customers while they are staying at hotels or similar facilities. They may work at inns, camping areas, resorts, ranches, and hotels in specific areas such as human resources management, front office management, food service management, among others.
Hotel Management professionals usually perform many of the following tasks:
• Making sure that all reservations are correct.
• Scheduling housekeeping.
• Directing office administration.
• Training new staff members.
• Organizing special events.

Education
Persons who want to work in the Hotel Management area are required to have a two or four-year Degree from a University, Vocational School, or Community College. Applicants having a Master´s Degree in Hotel Management have better job opportunities at higher level positions. Most employers require candidates having suitable prior experience working in the hospitality area. Some professionals in this industry started working at lower level positions as trainees and then they worked their way up to other jobs such as department manager or assistant manager. Other good recommendation for people who want to work in this field is taking the Lodging Management Program offered by the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association through one of the hundreds of schools approved.
